OUR MISSION

The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We serve school-aged youth, ages 5 to 18, year-round through a comprehensive approach that emphasizes engaging and evidence-based programming combined with authentic relationship-building and social/emotional support that serves the whole child. We provide a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for our members to engage in learning, recreation, and companionship. Our programs are facilitated by caring, compassionate, and dedicated staff with the goal of impacting children's lives within the following outcome areas: academic success, good character and citizenship, the arts, and health and wellness.

During the school year, we support members and families with after-school programming from 3:00pm-6:30pm, Monday-Friday. Our afterschool program is designed as an extension of the school day, offering academic support and homework help in conjunction with programming focused on overall development and wellbeing, such as physical education, art, and social-emotional learning. Our 8-week summer program is held Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm. During this time, we aim to spark creativity, keep brains and bodies working during the summer months, prevent summer learning loss, and provide plentiful opportunities for positive social, emotional, physical, and academic growth and connection with adults and peers. For youth from all backgrounds, the Club is a stable, consistent, and encouraging community of caring people helping them reach their full potential.

Office Hours: 10am-2pm

Afterschool Program: 3pm-7:00pm 

Summer Hours: 8am-5:30pm
